ABTA members asked to support new LifeLine appeal

Monday, 16 Nov, 2016 0

ABTA is asking members to support LifeLine’s ‘£1 Per Employee’ appeal, which is being launched tomorrow.

The charity, which helps people in need in the travel industry, hopes the appeal will raise £40,000.

Members are asked to donate £1 for every employee, or match the £1 donations given by their staff.

It suggests smaller members round up their donation to the nearest £10.

TUI, Thomas Cook, Traveltime World, Kuoni, Hays Travel and others have already pledged their support, said ABTA.

ABTA LifeLine chairman, Derek Jones, added: "As a travel community, we have the opportunity to come together and make a real difference to the lives of our colleagues and their families at a time when it’s needed most.

"It is a chance for each member company to go that extra mile for their staff, the people who drive their businesses.

"If every member, however big or small, supported our appeal, we would raise a significant amount of funding for our colleagues in need, so we hope that as many members as possible will take part."

Members can pledge their support to ABTA LifeLine by contacting Trudie Drake at [email protected], or by visiting www.abtalifeline.org.uk.
