ABTA yet to decide on 2008 convention venue
ABTA will not decide on a venue for 2008’s Travel Convention until the new year.
The association usually closes the convention by announcing the venue for the following year.
But ABTA wants to first receive feedback from the new-look Tenerife event before confirming a location for next year.
It is known that China has made a bid and is not being ruled out at this stage despite being a long haul destination. Other possible options are believed to include Dubai and the UK.
Chief executive Mark Tanzer said: “This is a new-look event, we have a new board of directors and they will want to get feedback before making a decision.
“We have had some fabulous bids in and plan to make an announcement early in the new year.”
