Accor introducing Raffles brand to India
French hotel titan Accor is bringing landmark premium brand Raffles to India.
The company announced the signings of Raffles Jaipur and Raffles Udaipur, marking a stronger focus on a luxury presence in India.
A brand with more than a century of history, there are just 13 properties across 11 countries, although a busy development pipeline will see the portfolio double within a few years.
Accor says they will help meet the strong demand for luxury stays in India.
"Today’s signing of the Raffles Jaipur and Raffles Udaipur marks an historic moment for Accor in India. We are seeing increasing demand for luxury travel in India and are looking forward to expanding Accor’s globally renowned portfolio of luxury brands," said Jean-Michel Cassé, Accor’s COO for India and South Asia.
Raffles Udaipur is slated to open next year with 101 rooms and suites.
Two years later the 55-suite Raffles Jaipur will open.
Accor also announced the debut of the Fairmont brand in India with a new property in India.
Accor has a big presence in the country with brands such as Ibis, Pullman and Novotel.
