Accor unveils new ‘millennials’ brand
AccorHotels has launched a new brand that sounds like a cross between an upmarket youth hostel, self-catering apartments and a budget hotel.
It will offer shared rooms with individual lockers, private rooms or apartments for groups of two to five with self-catering facilities, and ‘original’ accommodation such as yurts, hammocks and caravans for single travellers or groups of up to six.
Each property will have a bar, restaurant serving ‘no frills’ cuisine, and a self-catering kitchen.
Accor aims to open 50 hotels under the new Jo&Joe brand by 2020 with properties planned for Paris and Bordeaux by 2018. It is also looking at opening in Warsaw, Budapest, Rio and Sao Paulo.
All the hotels will be in city centre locations close to public transport and within 15 minutes of major points of interest, it said.
