Acela adds trips
Amtrak is adding a fourth Acela roundtrip between Boston and New York starting 2 May, the railroad announced.
The popular Acela has seen a surge in ticket buying. Amtrak attributed ridership gains to lower fares that went into effect a year ago. New York-Boston fares have been $99, with first class available for another $50.
The tickets are fully refundable or exchangeable anytime without a penalty.
The trains, offering 120-volt power outlets for every seat and conference tables, are popular with business travelers.
Amtrak offers 20 Acela Express trains between Boston and New York each weekday.
