Advance Passenger Information System – APIS/API and e-profiles
What is APIS/API?
APIS/API is an automated system capable of performing database (law enforcement and federal agencies) queries on air passengers prior to their arrival into Countries requiring APIS infomation (USA, Canada, China except HKG, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Mexico & South Africa) from foreign locations.
APIS data must be sent to the airlines within 15 minutes before the aircraft’s departure. failure to provide this information will delay the passenger at check in, which could delay flights by up to 90 minutes.
What information will be required by the airlines:
Passport number – Citizenship – Date of Birth – Name – Gender
