Adventure group introduces trip guarantee
Independent small-group adventure operator G Adventures is looking to sell more trips through agents by giving a 100% guarantee that trips will depart.
From January 1, it will guarantee that a trip will take place, rather than insisting that a minimum number of bookings is required for a trip to depart.
It claims the move will change the way agents sell, making the booking process easier and allowing them to get cheaper deals on flights by booking early.
G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip said: "We’ve invested a lot of time perfecting our yield management, balancing demand for trips and forecasting sales. We’re confident we’ve got it right and can make agents’ jobs that much easier.
"The adventure travel industry has traditionally played a numbers game, but we’re turning that on its head."
G Adventures offers small-group tours, safaris and expeditions to more than 100 countries. Its programme has been expanded for 2013.
