Aegean Airlines is placing island hopping at the heart of its summer strategy and strengthening its domestic network for 2026. Island hopping refers to traveling from one island to another within the same trip, combining multiple destinations.
Aegean goal: to simplify multi-island travel and offer passengers a smoother, faster, and more flexible way to explore Greece.
As traveler expectations evolve with more people seeking varied and immersive experiences, Aegean Airlines is focusing on island hopping. Thanks to a wide range of direct flights, it is now easier to move from one island to another while making the most of time on the ground.
From the Cyclades to the Dodecanese, as well as Crete and the Ionian Islands, this approach allows travelers to discover, in one journey, the richness of landscapes, cultural diversity, and authenticity of the Greek islands.
New direct routes for greater flexibility
As part of this strategy, AEGEAN is expanding its offering with several new direct domestic routes designed to streamline travel between islands:
- Thessaloniki – Milos: from June 1, 2026
- Thessaloniki – Zakynthos: from June 18, 2026
- Heraklion – Mykonos: from May 29, 2026
- Heraklion – Mytilene: from May 8, 2026
- Heraklion – Paros: from June 22, 2026
- Heraklion – Santorini: from May 6, 2026
- Heraklion – Syros: from June 15, 2026
- Rhodes – Milos: from June 1, 2026
- Rhodes – Mykonos: from June 28, 2026
- Rhodes – Naxos: from June 17, 2026
- Santorini – Mykonos: from June 29, 2026
These routes complement the existing network and open up a wide range of itinerary combinations, without the need to connect via Athens.
With this enhanced network, AEGEAN significantly reduces travel times and limits the need for complex connections or longer sea travel alternatives. Travelers benefit from a simplified journey, allowing them to spend more time exploring their destinations.
