Aeromexico considering Hawaii-Mexico flights
The Hawaii Tourism Authority said it is in talks with Aeromexico for the first ever direct flights from Latin America to the Aloha State.
The Mexico-based airline wants to start flying from Mexico City to Hawaii which would operate seasonally from April to August and mid-December to early January, HTA vice president of brand management David Uchiyama said.
Uchiyama said the route is now viable due to new planes such as the Boeing 787 and the Airbus 350 or 330neo aircraft.
He said discussions are still at an early stage.
Aeromexico serves 44 cities in Mexico and 37 more destinations in Central and South America, Europe and Asia.
