Affordable Car Hire CEO wins executive award

Monday, 29 Sep, 2016 0

Affordable Car Hire CEO Angela Day has been named UK transport rental chief executive of the year at the  2016 Executive Awards.

The awards, run by Corporate Vision (CV) magazine, recognise the ‘shining stars’ of the world of business and those bosses who ‘are the driving force behind their firms’ growth and prosperity’, according to the organisers.

The accolade comes in the same month as Day and husband James Moore, who is chairman of Affordable Car Hire, celebrate the company’s 12th birthday.

She said: "We launched Affordable Car Hire in September 2004 with the aim of becoming the UK’s largest and most-respected independent leisure car-rental company.

"When James and I set up the company from our garage 12 years ago, I never envisaged winning such an accolade, so I’m thrilled to bits.

"We are now the largest UK independent leisure car-rental company, working with over 500 car-rental partners, through a network of 192 countries in over 30,000 worldwide locations.

Winners are selected by a combination of votes gathered from CV magazine’s network of respected industry partners and its own in-house research.

Each award is carefully scrutinised from a nominee’s region to their performance over the past 12 months, their commitment to innovation, their methods and their competition, to ensure the most deserving firms walk away with a trophy.
