Carnival Cruise Lines is celebrating the return of its “Fun Ships” to New Orleans in four and five-day Mexico voyages starting at prices of $279 per person.
The Fantasy ship will start service in late October on four-day cruises to Cozumel and five-day cruises to Cozumel and Costa Maya.
Pre- and post-cruise land stays will allow guest to sample New Orleans’ cuisine, entertainment and nightlife.
Carnival’s “SuperLiner” ships have a variety of on-board amenities including three restaurants, three swimming pools, a cascading water slide and a 12,000 square foot spa.
Shore excursions range from scuba diving to deep sea fishing or golfing and tours of Mayan ruins.
Carnival says it will be the only cruise line to operate two ships year-round from New Orleans, the Fantasy and Carnival Triumph.
The cruise line expects to carry about 320,000 guests annually from New Orleans.
