Agency failures bring toll to 25 this year
ABTA has announced two more agency casualties.
Tour operator and agent Eurodestination Ltd and agency Alan Bartram Travel Ltd ceased trading last week.
The Swansea-based Eurodestination sold short breaks via a website and from its retail outlet in Alexandra Road.
Alan Bartram Travel had three branches in Luton, Dunstable and Stopsley. The agent sold theatre breaks, domestic and overseas holidays.
Holidaymakers that have bookings with either company are being encouraged to contact either the credit control departments of the tour operator with whom their holiday was booked or the ABTA Claims department on 020 7307 2041.
According to a spokeswoman for ABTA, the failures bring the total number of agencies that have ceased trading this year to 25. This is consistent with the last three years – at this time in 2003 there were 25 failures, in 2002 there were 25 and in 2001 there were 24 at this time.
