Agent sales up for Superbreak
Superbreak has reported that trade sales of London breaks are up 39% in the last 16 weeks, compared to the same period last year.
It said agents have made bookings for over 75,000 customers to the capital during that period.
Although sales are up, average booking values are down slightly, but they are still over £350 per booking, it added.
‘’The market for London hotel breaks from UK residents is massive, certainly as big as the top five European cities put together,” said Ian Mounser, sales director.
“Any agent who’s not permanently pushing London breaks to their customer base right now is missing a big trick. With elements such as rail travel, theatres, concerts, attractions and tours all bookable and fully commissionable to agents, in addition to the hotel, the opportunities to dynamically package a London break are endless.”
The news comes as the operator launches its second edition London programme, featuring a range of new products.
These include theatre break packages to see Breakfast at Tiffany’s, staring Anna Friel, and Legally Blonde the Musical.
The programme also features tours of Kew Gardens and trips to see The ‘Moctezuma: Aztec Ruler’ exhibition which opens at the British Museum on 24 September and runs until 24 January.
