Agents learn the hard sell on cruising
The Passenger Shipping Association is optimistic that agents are showing a growing interest in booking cruises.
The PSA has recently signed the Co-operative Travel Trading Group to its Retail Agent Scheme. According to CTTG chief operating officer, Mike Greenacre, CTTG agents are experiencing record levels of demand for cruising.
The scheme offers agency training seminars that cover details about cruise products, making sales and selling promotions and special training for call centre supervisors. Agents will also be offered ship visits and fam trips.
The announcement follows news that a record number of Brits – over one million – took cruises last year.
Together with the 100 agents that make up CTTG, PSARA now has around 500 agent members. For more details go to www.psa-psara.org.
