Agent’s one-stop-screen for fares
Agents will be offerred a flight booking system that enables them to search and book all fares from one screen.
EasySell Flights, available from January, will allow agents to search and book fares through existing channels including GDSs, charter carriers, net fares, and consolidators. The system is also being adapted to screen scrape no-frills fares.
EasySell Flights is the offering from a joint venture between agency software provider, Comtec and supplier and distribution technology provider, Datalex.
Comtec e-commerce director, Ed Whiting told TravelMole: “The product will adapt to existing GDSs, and has the technology to allow agents to continue their relationships with consolidators. There is no travel supplier we know of that isn’t compatible with EasySell Flights.
“It is open architecture, so there is nothing to build as such. Apart from pulling it all together, we are using existing robust technology that has been around for a while”.
Mr Whiting said he couldn’t disclose the cost of the system at this stage, but said that EasySell Flight was cost effective for agents of all sizes. He revealed that Comtec and Datalex were in talks with three agents, and should make an announcement later this month.
There will be four versions of the system – EasySell Flights for Travel Agents, targeted at high street outlets and call centres; EasySell Flights Expert, for IATA-trained agents; EasySell Flights Net Fares, for consolidated fare specialists, and EasySell Flights Consumer, a website white-label version for bricks and mortar and online agencies to sell through their websites.
