AIME 2008 – meet the man behind Emirates’ stunning new resort in New South Wales’ Blue Mountains
With AIME 2008, the region’s leading MICE show over for another year, there are still a number of TravelMole TV interviews to reveal to you, with the first this morning John Alwyn-Jones chatting with Joost Heymeijer the man behind the development and operation of Emirates’ Wolgan Valley Resort and Spa, in the Blue Mountains, New South Wales.
The development of this stunning resort has been plagued by bureaucratic delays believed to have set the project 18 months behind schedule as a result, with many of the delay issues understood to be in the NSW Government, with Sheik Ahmed, the Chairman of Emirates and senior Emirates Management saying publicly that if they knew then what they knew now about what they would have to go through to develop a resort in NSW they would not have bothered.
All that no appears to be behind Emirates and it is now full speed ahead with the building of the resort for opening beleived to be in 2009.
