Air Astana signs codeshare agreement with Cathay Pacific
Kazakhstan carrier Air Astana has inked a new codeshare agreement with Cathay Pacific offering respective customers more connecting flight options from hubs in Almaty and Hong Kong.
The codeshare pact kicks off on March 15 and sees Cathay Pacific place its ‘CX’ code on Air Astana’s twice weekly non-stop flights between Hong Kong and Almaty.
Air Astana adds a third flight beginning March 25.
Cathay Pacific will also codeshare on Air Astana routes linking Almaty with Bangkok and Seoul offering additional options for travel from Hong Kong to Kazakhstan.
Air Astana will also get access to Cathay connecting services between Hong Kong and Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Singapore.
"We are thrilled to strengthen co-operation with this wide-reaching codeshare agreement, which will further benefit our respective passengers, as well as the overall economic relationship between Kazakhstan and dynamic Hong Kong," said Richard Ledger, vice president of marketing and sales at Air Astana.
Reservations for codeshare flights are now live on both airlines’ websites.
"We are delighted to join with Air Astana and provide our customers with links to one of the most fascinating countries in Central Asia," said Ronald Lam, Cathay Pacific’s director of commercial and cargo.
