Air Canada halting all US flights

Air Canada is suspending all remaining transborder flights to the US after a ban on cross-border travel was extended for another 30 days.

The last US flights will operate on April 26 and then resume again on May 22.

Non-essential Canada -US travel was halted a month ago and only the shipment of goods and essential travel for emergency and healthcare personnel is allowed.

Air Canada is waiving any change fees for impacted customers.

Air Canada had been operated limited flights from the US to Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver ‘primarily to facilitate the repatriation of Canadians.’

The flag carrier has suspended about 90% of scheduled flights and is operating just a few transatlantic services to London, Paris and Frankfurt.

Westjet is extending the suspension of all US and international flights to June 4.

Canadian carrier Porter Airlines’ operations are grounded and it still expects to resume some services as planned on June 1.
