Air France workers urged to accept pay offer
One of France’s main unions has urged Air France workers to accept the latest pay offer.
The leader of CFDT leader Laurent Berger made the comments on Europe 1 radio, where he accused the airline’s main pilots’ union of ‘taking everyone hostage’.
He added ground staff would face deeper cuts if pilots’ demands were met, according to Reuters.
At the moment, more strikes are planned for this week and next, with Air France saying it is ‘too early to evaluate the possible impacts of this action’.
Planned strike dates are Thursday May 3, Friday May 4 this week, then Monday May 7 and Tuesday May 8 next week.
Air France is currently advising travellers: "As soon as we have a more accurate estimate of the number of employees on strike and the impact on our operations, our flight schedule will be changed accordingly and also made public the day before your departure.
"On the day before your departure, we will send you an SMS or e-mail to confirm the potential impact on your journey.
"If you are booked on a flight departing on the dates mentioned above, we now offer rebooking options at no extra cost, no matter the fare."
