Air India and IcelandAir enter codeshare partnership
Air India has inked a new intercontinental codeshare agreement with flag carrier Icelandair.
It aims to boost connectivity between India and Iceland plus connecting travel options across 15 routes in India and Europe.
The two airlines signed the airline codeshare agreement at the recent IATA Annual General Meeting in India.
Air India customers will get seamless connections on Icelandair-operated flights to Reykjavik via Air India’s European gateways such as London Heathrow, Gatwick, Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Milan, and Zurich.
Icelandair customers get convenient ticketed flight connections on Air India-operated flights to key Indian cities.
Icelandair will place its ‘FI’ designator code on Air India flights between Delhi and Amsterdam, Paris, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, as well as on Mumbai – Frankfurt and London Heathrow.
Air India CEO & Managing Director Campbell Wilson said: “We are happy to embark on this codeshare partnership with Icelandair. By combining our strengths, we are creating a seamless bridge between India’s destinations and Iceland.”
The codeshare flights will progressively become available for sale.
