India’s airlines are progressively restarting halted air routes as India-Pakistan tensions ease.
Dozens of airports have reopened by Airports Authority of India and Air India is set to restart flights to and from Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot.
It will likely take some days to get back close to normal service, especially as demand remains low.
IndiGo will resume services at Jodhpur, Chandigarh and Jammu later this week.
“In line with the latest government directives, the airports are open for operations. We will progressively commence operations on the previously closed routes,” IndiGo said.
“As services gradually return to normal, there may still be a few delays and last-minute adjustments.”
The airline recommends passengers check their flight status up to and including their planned day of travel.
The airline added that flight waivers remain available until next week for travel to and from the impacted airports.
SpiceJet and Air India Express also said they are working to restart normal operations over the next few days.
