Flag carrier Air India has confirmed plans to serve Washington DC with the upcoming launch of three weekly flights from Delhi.

The 14-hour flight will launch on July 7, 2017 on three-class Boeing 777-200 jets, making DC the airline’s fifth US destination.

AI also flies to Chicago O’Hare, New York JFK, Newark Liberty, and San Francisco and with the addition of Washington DC, its US schedule now numbers 33 flights per week.

"Air India is committed to making service faster and more convenient for our customers, whether traveling for business or leisure," said Vandana Sharma, Air India’s regional manager, Americas.

"Our expanding service also addresses the growing demand of customers living and working in Indo-American communities throughout the U.S. that are looking for fast, direct service with seamless connections."

Passengers departing DC can connect to major cities via Air India’s vast domestic network to Bengaluru, Mumbai, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi and many more destinations.
