Air NZ flies with new CEO
Air New Zealand has appointed former Unilever Canada president and CEO Christopher Luxon as its next chief executive.
He will take over from current CEO Rob Fyfe at the end of December.
Christchurch-born Luxon is currently Air NZ group general manager international airline, a role he has held since joining the airline in May 2011.
"Rob Fyfe has done an incredible job transforming Air New Zealand and steering it through some of the most difficult trading conditions in modern history," Luxon said.
Meanwhile, AirAsia has named Aireen Omar as the new CEO and executive director of AirAsia Berhad. She has been part of the senior management team at AirAsia.
She will report directly to Tony Fernandes, group CEO of AirAsia, who is relocating to Jakarta to spearhead the budget airline’s growth in the Asean region.
