Air traffic control strike hits French travel
France: BA cancels 80 per cent of services; passengers face serious delays
Anyone heading to, from, or over France today could be faced with cancellations and serious travel delays because air traffic controllers have joined a country-wide strike.
All airlines flying to France have been affected by the action, with British Airways cancelling some 80 per cent of its services and also diverting many flights that would normally use French air space. Less than 30 of the airline’s planned 120 services will fly today.
BA is planning to tackle the situation by using larger aircraft on flights that have not been affected, and is offering a refund or transferring passengers on to other flights at no extra cost.
EasyJet is giving passengers the option of applying for a refund or transferring to another flight on the same route for travel within seven days.
