Canadian leisure airline Air Transat has expanded its UK sales team with the appointment of two sales managers and a team member dedicated to travel trade sales support.

Malcolm Aldcroft joins Air Transat as sales manager for southern England with a key focus on the London market.

This follows 27 years in the airline industry, including more than 20 years at British Airways, with roles based in the UK and Canada.

Gail Kerr joins as sales manager for northern England, Scotland and Ireland, bringing more than 28 years of expertise in sales and account management in the travel industry including time at Air France KLM and Turkish Airlines to Air Transat.

Within their respective regions, each will be responsible for day-to-day relationship management of existing and prospective travel trade partners, as well as identifying and pursuing business-to-business revenue growth opportunities for the airline, said the company.

Tony McSorley has been appointed as travel trade sales support for UK and Ireland. He joins following 28 years in account management and team leadership roles with travel consolidators and corporate agencies including Airsavers, Travelport GDS and Corporate Travel Management.

He will provide dedicated day-to-day support to the travel trade, while also managing the new Air Transat groups sales department.

Lesley Kane, sales director for UK and Ireland, said: "The appointment of these three talented individuals, and the specialist expertise they each bring to their new roles, will bolster our travel trade team and ensure Air Transat has the best support in place for all our existing and prospective trade partners.

"Our relationships with the travel trade sector are incredibly important, and we understand the integral role their support plays in driving Air Transat’s long term growth plans."

Air Transat offers services from London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and Dublin to destinations across Canada.
