Air Transat Holidays to offer 10% agency commission
Canada Flights and Holidays has been rebranded as Air Transat Holidays following the takeover of parent Canadian Affair by the airline in the summer.
The renamed operator is to start accepting online bookings from agents next month offering up to 57 flights a week to Canada with the inclusion of services by Thomas Cook Airlines and MyTravel Airways.
A dedicated website at www.transatholidays.co.uk goes live in November offering 10% commission with sales also available on viewdata and by telephone. Bookings made by GDS will earn 7% commission.
The programme will offer 400,000 return seats next summer with the opportunity for clients to mix and match airlines and return airports.
More than half the flights feature widebody Airbus A330 and A310s, with the majority of flights to eastern Canada operated by Thomas Cook Boeing 757s.
The operator’s website will be followed by a brochure to be distributed to all ABTA agencies featuring hotels, Rocky Mountaineer train tours, self-drive holidays, cruises and motor-homes.
The operator’s business support director Natalie Roberts said: “We are keen to strengthen our relationship with the travel trade. Through the launch of Air Transat Holidays, we are ensuring the trade can book an extensive range of flights and holidays to Canada, all at generous levels of commission.
“By offering a choice of different booking methods, we hope to make arranging flights and holidays to Canada as easy as possible.”
