Malindo Air has marked the start of its newest route with the launch of flights from Singapore to Kota Kinabalu, East Malaysia.

Malindo Air’s latest route expansion was celebrated recently at Kota Kinabalu International Airport and is operated by a Boeing 737NG aircraft with 12 Business Class and 150 Economy Class seats.

"This new service will provide a premium option for the 2 hours and 25 minutes journey. We hope to attract more visitors to Malaysia and to create higher awareness of our network beyond Kota Kinabalu," said Chandran Rama Muthy, CEO of Malindo Air.

Malindo also offers direct service from KK to Guangzhou, Changsha, Chengdu, and Zhengzhou in China, with Nanning, Tian Jin and Xi’an being added soon.

"This new route from Singapore to Kota Kinabalu by Malindo Air will boost our connectivity in East Malaysia. Known for its famous offerings of seafood and tourist attractions, Kota Kinabalu has a lot of room to grow in the tourism sector," said Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin, acting group CEO of Malaysia Airports.
