AirAsia adds extra Lombok services from KL
Low cost giant AirAsia has announced extra services on its Kuala Lumpur-Lombok, Indonesia route, boosting frequencies from 10 a week to an average two flights a day, with at least one departure every day of the week.
The carrier will operate 14 weekly flights from 23 January 2015.
The route has seen a steady rise in capacity since the inaugural flight back in 2012.
"The additional Kuala Lumpur – Lombok flight frequencies provides our guests with more convenience and enhanced schedule flexibility, as they can travel from Kuala Lumpur to Lombok and return on any day of the week," said Spencer Lee, AirAsia head of commercial.
"Currently, with ten weekly flights on our schedule, it is already an excellent feat as we are the only airline with the biggest direct connection from Kuala Lumpur to Lombok."
The route is popular as Lombok provides one of Indonesia’s largest per capita markets for migrant workers to Malaysia and Lombok itself as a tourist destination has taken off massively in recent years as an alternative to neighbouring Bali.
AirAsia also operates three weekly flights between Johor Bahru to Lombok.
