AirAsia launching Maldives flights

Budget carrier AirAsia will start three times a week service to the Maldives beginning Oct 22, 2015.

The carrier said reservations are now open for KL-Maldives flights at airasia.com and and is being kicked off with a fare promotion starting at RM169 one way.

"The promotion is ongoing until July 26, 2015 for travel period of October 22, 2015 until August 31, 2016," an AirAsia statement said.

"AirAsia is the only airline that flies direct to Maldives from here, offering three times weekly flights to this island destination," said AirAsia head of commercial Spencer Lee

"The destinations which offer ‘fly-thru’ connectivity to Maldives include Incheon, Osaka, Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Bangkok, Penang and the Gold Coast."
