AirAsia launching Phuket-Penang daily flights
AirAsia has unveiled plans to start flying between two of Southeast Asia’s top island destinations this summer.
Flights will operate daily between Phuket and Penang starting on 1 July 2018.
To mark the announcement, AirAsia is offering introductory all-in, one-way travel fares from THB990 for travel until October 28, 2018.
AirAsia also begins operating a new four fights a week service from Penang to Hanoi, Vietnam at the same time.
The two routes take the number of cities AirAsia serves from Penang to 10.
"Penang is undoubtedly one of Malaysia’s pride with its World Heritage status. More importantly, its strategic location at the crossroads in the region has helped boost the growing inbound and outbound travel demand that saw seven million tourist arrivals via air travel last year," said Spencer Lee, head of commercial for AirAsia Malaysia.
