AirAsia names date for Abu Dhabi

KUALA LUMPUR – AirAsiaX is launching services between KL and
Abu Dhabi from November 23 this year.

The LCC will start with five weekly flights in time for the peak Haj and Eid-dul Adha travel season.

A launch fare of AED99 (RM99) one-way is available online via AirAsia’s website.

Booking period is from today to August 26, for travel between November 23 this year to July 31, 2010.

AirAsia X CEO Azran Osman-Rani said he was “ecstatic” with the carrier’s first long haul route into the Middle East from Kuala Lumpur

“This is part of our overall strategy in expanding into the Middle East. We see an untapped market which has strong economic potential for the route,” he added.

An Airbus A340 aircraft will service the new route.

Passengers will pay extra for food, baggage, and “hot” seats.
