AirAsia offline this weekend
AirAsia’s booking services will be unavailable from 1pm, Friday, July 9 (Malaysia time/GMT+8) until 6pm on Sunday, July 11 (Malaysia time/GMT+8) while the budget airline migrates to a new booking system.
The airline said the new system will be “a huge improvement on AirAsia’s current booking system, allowing Air Asia to book up to almost one million flights per dayâ€.
The new system is powered by Navitaire.
During implementation of the new system, travellers will not be able to book seats online, nor at AirAsia sales offices and counters, nor through the call centre.
Also, passengers will not be able to self check-in through the web, by mobile and at the kiosks – nor self-manage their booking online.
During the shutdown, AirAsia will only be accepting cash for purchases of ancillary product at the check-in counters, including excess baggage fees.
