Home sharing platform Airbnb says nearly two million guests will usher in the New Year in an Airbnb.

That is nearly double the number of guests compared to last year, the company says.

These two million guests hail from nearly 200 countries and New York City is the most preferred destination, with an estimated 55,000 guests.

Airbnb hosts in the Big Apple will collectively pocket around $32million in revenue for New Year stays, Airbnb says.

Average rate for New Year is about $95 a night globally.

Other popular cities for NYE include London, Paris, Tokyo and Rome, the company said in a post on its website.
