Airbnb partners with Bahamas to woo tourism entrepreneurs
Airbnb has partnered with the Bahamas to search for the next generation of local tourism entrepreneurs.
It joined hands with the Tourism Development Corporation for a range of events to empower locals to boost their business through Airbnb’s Experiences platform.
Events that took place include a Train the Trainer program, an Entrepreneurship Lab, and a Town Hall meeting to inspire budding Airbnb Experience hosts and disseminate the latest market trends.
"Airbnb, is excited to work with the Tourism Development Corporation to highlight locals, sustainable tourism, and ensure that Bahamiansare at the helm of the benefits of a robust tourism industry," said Carlos Munoz, Airbnb campaign manager for public policy and communications in the Caribbean and Central America.
The Train the Trainer program focused on the changing traveler demographics and trends, as well as explaining the Airbnb Experiences onboarding process for new applicants.
The Entrepreneurship Lab, held in Nassau was live streamed to the Out Islands, an area of focus in order to attract more partners in areas which are less frequented by tourists.
