Airbnb snaps up Urbandoor
Airbnb has acquired extended stay platform Urbandoor, which works mostly with apartment block owners offering accommodation mainly to business travellers.
Established three years ago, Urbandoor lists properties in about 1,500 cities in 60 countries.
"We wanted to connect travelling and relocating professionals with the right apartment every time, anywhere. Joining the Airbnb family will help us make good on our goals," said Urbandoor co-founder Erik Eccles.
The entire Urbandoor team will move over to Airbnb for Work, although there are no immediate plans to ditch the Urbandoor name.
Airbnb claims it has 500,000 companies using Airbnb for Work.
