Airbnb’s ‘Experiences’ on track for a million guest bookings
Airbnb’s Experiences tour and activity service is on track to clock up its first million bookings.
It is attracting bookings of tens of thousands of travelers every month, the company says of the service which rolled out more than a year ago.
Airbnb says the one million milestone will likely be passed during the second quarter of this year.
That is based on the current product portfolio of about 5,000 tours across 58 cities.
It recently announced plans to significantly increase this to 25,000 travel experiences in at least 200 cities by the year-end.
It is spending about $5 million to scale up the service.
There are currently about 1,000 excursions and activities available to enjoy in the US including some non-profit social impact experiences where providers keep 100% of revenues.
