Airbus confirms new mid-size aircraft
Airbus has confirmed plans for a new mid-size aircraft at the Farnborough Air Show today.
A new range of twin-aisle long-range aircraft will cost more than £5 billion to develop.
Airbus announced plans for the A350XWB (Extra Wide Body) family of aircraft with a capacity of between 250-350 passengers for delivery from 2012. there will be three models with a new wider fuselage.
The A350 would rival Boeing’s twin-engine 787 due to enter service in 2008.
