Airfares for Tel Aviv flights skyrocket
Around one third of all scheduled flights out of Tel Aviv are still cancelled.
It comes as passengers are being quoted sky high prices to fly out of the country.
The three big US airlines cancelled flights at the weekend and have been joined by Cathay Pacific, Air Canada, Portugal’s TAP, Norwegian Air and others.
EasyJet halted flights to Tel Aviv, while Wizz Air suspended Tel Aviv flights t until further notice.
Russia banned night flights to Israel due to the ‘unstable political and military situation.’
The US Federal Aviation Authority issued a NOTAM for overflying Israeli airspace.
Flag carrier El Al is adding more flights to bring in overseas based reservists.
The stock prices of Delta, American Airlines and Wizz Air fell due to the conflict.
There are reports that flights out of Israel are costing around £1,200 to the UK.
Virgin Atlantic is running one of two normally scheduled services a day out of Tel Aviv but has no free seats until next week.
EasyJet flights to Gatwick, Luton and Manchester are suspended as are Tel Aviv flights to Gatwick and Luton with Wizz Air.
British Airways is still operating but fares have exceeded £1,200 one way.
That is about three times the normal airfare for the time of tear.
Meanwhile, more than 10 British nationals are feared dead or missing in Israel, the BBC reports.

Disgusting that any company should be making such profit out of such misery…… So disappointed in British Airways!

Profiteering on flights from Israel. No matter what I feel about the rights and wrongs of the war, it's wrong to charge too much even with flight cancellations.
