Airline payment network UATP adds WEX virtual payments
Airline-owned payment network UATP has partnered with corporate payment solutions WEX to offer the WEX Virtual Credit Card (VCC) across the entire UATP network.
Delta Air Lines will be the launch customer adopting the WEX VCC solution for hotel and car rental bookings.
"Collaborating with UATP was a logical move to grow our virtual global travel payment platform," said WEX SVP, general manager of virtual payments, James Pratt.
"VCCs are an increasingly popular form of payment for travellers and we expect the solution to be picked up quickly and grow rapidly with UATP."
Corporate travelers use a one-time virtual credit card number for any currency that WEX recognises.
Settlement time and costs are reduced for travellers as a single travel statement is produced for all air, hotel and rental car bookings.
"Working with WEX, we have created a solution that will enhance the UATP network by allowing corporates to add hotels and rental cars to their UATP accounts," said Ralph Kaiser, president and CEO, UATP.
"As the pioneer of single-use payment technology, we know that WEX will provide top-notch service to our network and its customers."
