Airline shares fall on fuel price concerns

Monday, 25 May, 2004 0

Travel and tourism shares suffered small falls yesterday as London’s equity markets marked time. The FTSE 100 index dropped 2.5 points to end the day at 4428.9, while the FTSE 250 lost 7.9 points to end the day at 6001.9.

Significant – if not spectacular – moves were seen at British Airways and EasyJet, which dropped 2.25p to 252.5p and 4.25p to 205.25p respectively. The Guardian’s City pages attributes the falls to concerns over potential fuel price rises.
