JAL has announced a reduction in capacity and flight frequency in order to make up for plummeting demand following the Japan earthquake disaster.
The airline will use smaller aircraft on selected services and cut back frequency on 74 weekly flights on 11 international routes.
From April 6, flight frequencies from Narita to Honolulu, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul, Hong Kong, Pusan in South Korea, Taipei and Kaoh Siung in Taiwan will be slashed.
A spokesman for the airline apologised for the inconvenience but said it was necessary to “secure profitability.”
