Airline staffer caught with loaded gun at airport
An airline employee is in hot water after attempting to take a loaded gun through security at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The staffer was stopped at TSA screening.
It is not known whether the employee is cabin crew or ground staff, or even which airline employs them.
According to the Transportation Security Administration, it is the 49th gun seized at MSP this year.
The incident happened last week.
“Our officers are focused on ensuring that firearms do not make it through our security checkpoints,” said Marty Robinson, TSA’s Federal Security Director for Minnesota.
“I’m grateful that our officers here and nationwide remain vigilant during this busy travel season.”
“Airline employees should certainly be aware of that.”
Last year MSP TSA screeners found 58 firearms in 2022.
Penalty fines for bringing an unsecured firearm into an airport is nearly $15,000, while gun possession laws vary by state.
