Airline worker who smuggled cash gets jail time

Monday, 09 Mar, 2016 0
A former airline worker has been jailed for smuggling thousands of dollars through airport security.

Dino Dunkley, 29, was working for Delta Air Lines at Boston Logan Airport at the time and pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud the United States and illegally entering an airport area with intent to commit a felony.

Dunkley was sentenced to two years in prison, along with two years of supervised release, and a fine of $3,000.

In October and December of 2012 he used his airport security badge to smuggle $100,000 of what he thought was drug money in exchange for a payment of $3,000.

It was actually a sting operation set up by law enforcement.

Dunkley was one of five workers suspected of smuggling at the airport.

Four former JetBlue Airways workers were previously convicted of similar offenses.
