Airlines adding Super Bowl flights
Airlines are upping their game to get more Super Bowl fans to the big game.
Extra flights have been announced to Minneapolis from across the country.
United Airlines is adding flights for fans of the Philadelphia Eagles and New England Patriots with an extra 16 flights from its hubs around the country to MSP on Friday and Saturday February 2-3.
Friday flights will depart Boston, Los Angeles and Philadelphia and from Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Providence, Rhode Island the following day.
"We want United Airlines to be the first choice for football fans planning their travel to Minneapolis. In addition to our regular daily nonstop service, we’re making it easier for all of our customers to get to the game while also bolstering service from our hubs," said Grant Whitney, United’s vice president of domestic network planning.
Southwest Airlines is also adding Super Bowl LII options from fans’ home markets of Boston and Philly.
Southwest is adding an extra Minneapolis bound flight from Boston and two each reaturning to Boston and Philladelphia.
United and Delta both still have flights available to Minneapolis for Super Bowl weekend though fares are hovering around $1,000-plus from both cities.
