Airlines on time: best and worst

If you’re flying soon, and wonder about your chances of being on time, there are many variables but there are also some statistics to guide your expectations. Consider this:

  • The best airport for on-time arrivals: Cincinnati, 83% on time, according to the US Bureau of Transportation Statistics.

  • The worst: Chicago O’Hare: only 69%.

  • Others rated best for on-time (all 80% or more) were Salt Lake City and Phoenix.

  • Worst (in the 60s) were Newark, New York LaGuardia and Chicago.

  • Best for on-time departures: Salt Lake City at almost 86%, followed by Cincinnati, Salt Lake City and Phoenix.

  • Worst for on-time arrivals include Newark, followed by New York LaGuradia and Chicago O’Hare.

  • Best for on-time departures was Salt Lake City, followed by Cincinnati and San Diego.

  • The worst for on-time departures was Chicago O’Hare.
