Airlines ramp up pressure to reopen US-UK travel
Pressure is mounting on US and UK officials to green light a reopening of transatlantic travel. The CEOs of several large US and U.K. airlines sent letters to their respective government officials calling for a summit to discuss their concerns.
It was penned by the chief executives of Delta Air Lines, United Airlines, American Airlines, British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and new entrant JetBlue Airways, which is still waiting to launch its first transatlantic flight.
The transatlantic air corridor is among the most lucrative business markets for airlines.
