CityJet has increased capacity from London City Airport to Paris and Antwerp as rail passengers switch to air travel due to continued snowfall across Europe.
In order to cope with demand CityJet has added an extra flight on both routes to its schedule this morning (Monday).
The airline will continue to monitor the situation closely to see whether any extra flights will need to be added.
CEO Geoffrey O’Byrne White said: "It looks as though the snow will remain for a few days and could continue to create problems for rail passengers across Europe.
“A lot of train passengers are looking for a guaranteed method of transport that will get them home in time for Christmas and are therefore booking a seat onboard one of our aircraft."
Flybe has laid on larger aircraft from both Birmingham and Southampton to Paris Charles de Gaulle airport for the next four days in the run up to the holidays.
Chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said: "Flybe understands how important it is to get travellers to their destination over Christmas.
“We pride ourselves on being able to respond when the chips are down. We did so when the Channel Tunnel was closed by fire last year and we’re proud to be doing so again after Eurostar’s condensation problems.”
