Airport news about sleep and flu shots
US Airport news is perhaps topped by Atlanta Hartsfield’s new sleep rooms.
—The rooms, 7 feet by 8 feet, are aimed at travelers who want to relax, sleep or even conduct business between flights.
They are equipped with a daybed sofa, pillows and fresh blankets. Each room has a “sound masking system” to reduce noise.
Rooms cost $30 for the first hour and $7.50 for each additional 15 minutes.
—Perhaps the best airport in the country is CVG or Cincinnati/ Northern Kentucky. Since 1994, travelers have consistently rated CVG among the best airports in surveys by Sky Trax, ACNielsen, OAG Worldwide, J.D. Power and the International Air Transport Association. No other US airport has been rated so highly in so many independent surveys.
—The AeroClinic in Baltimore/Washington is selling flu shots until Dec. 10. Costs will range from US$22 to US$40 when available.
—Best place for healthy meals? Detroit Metro serves the healthiest, according to the Physicians for Responsible Medicine.
—The worst? Las Vegas, according to the report.
