Airport security probe after child almost boards flight without ticket
Airport officials are investigating how an 11-year-old travelling alone without a ticket managed to get through an airport in the US undetected.
The young boy travelled to Atlanta airport alone by bus, made it through security screening, and was only stopped at the gate as he tried to sneak on to the flight.
A spokesman for the TSA security agency in the US told news broadcasters that the boy wasn’t required to show ID at security because he was a minor, and he insisted the child was not a security threat because he had been screened at the checkpoint.
However, the agency wouldn’t comment on how he got through without a boarding pass.
The boy tried to blend in with a family boarding a flight but was caught out and made a run for it before being caught by airport security officers.
