AITO exec director appointed
AITO has appointed a new executive director.
Kate Kenward took over operations yesterday from Peter Burgess who was caretaking the role whilst a search was made for a suitable candidate.
Australian-born Kenward has lived in the UK for 20 years, was the UK PR representative for Anantara Resorts and Spas and worked in the London office of Tourism Australia for 15 years.
Said Kenward: “I strongly feel that independent tour operators will have a greater role to play in the future of the travel industry as consumers become more and more selective about their holiday choices. The independent tour operator/customer relationship will continue to grow in importance as knowledge, security and value for money become key elements in consumers’ holiday considerations. I see a bright future for both AITO and independent tour operators and I’m looking forward to being a part of this exciting adventure.â€
